One of the key benefits of CAVU’s partnership-based approach to funding is that our CHC partners can approach CAVU for catalytic funds which are critical to the success of the organization’s improvement of pediatric services. This was the case when SECHC needed to expand its dental services for underserved families. With nearly half of necessary funding already in place, SECHC turned to CAVU to provide the additional $9K needed to allow for better care for patients who often have nowhere else to turn for dental care.

The newly expanded dental clinic at SECHC has allowed for a 15% increase in the number of dental clinic appointments, and an 8% increase in the number of patients seen. The number of pediatric dental appointments increased 7% in the summer of 2007 compared to summer 2006 figures. CAVU was pleased to be able to respond to SECHC’s need to expand its services, and the results are evident in the smiles of their patients.
